Yesterday’s Training
I can barely move today….I love this feeling after a heavy lifting day. I went to failure and then some for each of the five basic multi-joint functional movements and am taking 5 rest days from lifting to let the muscles repair. Looking forward to sprint/core day on Wednesday and starting to swim regularly again.
Today’s Workout
Couldn’t do the Crossfit WOD today, I think I really did pull a muscle in my shoulder a few weeks ago because cleans are too painful. Ended up doing a WallBall pyramid, 125 total reps, and Tabata intervals on a bike. I can’t move now. That with the bench, rows, pullups, and my 5.5 mile run last night have left me….a little tired.
PUSHING ON! Tomorrow’s a new day with new self-imposed mountains to conquer.

Monday begins the 10 weeks leading up to my next triathlon. I’m going to increase my volume earlier on and try to stick to a more linear periodization plan for this next race. Crossfit’s going to be an even larger part of my training regimen this time too. I’m scheduled to drop in on a WOD early May and see how the actual Crossfit gym feels (in case I can scrape enough together to pay their super-high rates and actually join). Finally, the swim and T1 will be the focus of my next tri and I plan on shaving 4 minutes off my last time of 1:22:08. There you have it! Attainable and reasonably specific goals. 2 minutes off my swim time, 2 minutes off my T1 time, and after I get my new road bike I’ll see how it feels to maybe shave a minute or so off my bike leg.
